As we enter the 3rd month of 2021, how are you doing? We are still dealing with loss, isolation and fear in the world. I find somedays I am being too hard on myself and am just in a frustrated mood. So what can you do to turn that heaviness into something brighter?

Learning how to shift your perspective, your view of the situation, how you see your life, your challenges and your options is a CHOICE. When you choose to shift how you see things, you open yourself up to joy and happiness. OR -if you choose to stay where you are at, it can lead to negativity and hopelessness, so what is your choice?
To help with some clarity, ask yourself this question... Can I comfort myself?
If you were to talk to a friend that was dealing with hopeless feelings, what would I say to them? It may seem like a silly question, but would you ever say- "You suck", "There's no hope", "Things will never get better"- to a friend? OF COURSE NOT! You'd tell them, "It's ok to feel sad", "Be gentle with yourself", "Just hang in there, things will get better."
We need to be giving ourselves the same advice and loving words of encouragement. Taking care of ourselves through the body, mind and spirit- however that looks for you, is very important.
AN EXAMPLE- My laundry was piling up, like 10+ loads deep to fold. I was texting with a friend and complaining about it, and she attempted to shift my perspective. She told me to look at it as-
AN EXAMPLE- My laundry was piling up, like 10+ loads deep to fold. I was texting with a friend and complaining about it, and she attempted to shift my perspective. She told me to look at it as- " You have family to love and take care of in your home." In all honesty- I told her it was too freaking early in the morning to be Mary Poppins and I needed way more coffee before I'd think that. But, she did make me stop complaining. Instead, I CHOSE to drink coffee, fold clothes and listen to some 90's music. Yep, things can always be worse. But honestly, I still really dislike folding clothes!

One way I find that helps find some balance is through Yoga. Yoga can be gentle and peaceful. It's about finding your calm place, releasing tension and just taking time for you. This month of March, I will be doing a few different classes. If you'd like to join me, I'd love to have you. Yoga is for any level of experience, any body type. You just show up where you are at.
The class below is designed to give you the time to experience some yoga stretching and movement to relax tight muscles. Then, the Raindrop Essential Oils are applied to the spinal reflexes of the feet, as you give yourself a nice relaxing foot massage. These oils help to remove toxins, build up immunity and allow your body to release discomfort. Learn about reflexology techniques you can do for yourself and others to relax your nervous system. While you wrap your feet in warm towels, enjoy a guided meditation releasing stress. Pre-registration is required for this class.
Classes are being offered in Valley City on March 8th and Harvey on March 23rd

***Please note***On Sunday, March 7th- there will be no in-person class in Carrington due to a tournament that is being held in the wrestling center. BUT- I am stepping out of my comfort zone and will be offering a virtual class at 7pm on my FB page- Yoga with Lisa Marie. It is free, so grab your mat, find a quiet space and join me at 7pm for a class that will help you to release tension in your neck, shoulders, hips and back.

As we move through March- remember to be kind to yourself. Treat yourself with the same love you show to others. Take time just for you!
Warm Blessings,
Lisa
